Jane Cook Hollis, born in Tyler, Mo January 23, 1926, died in Columbia, TN September 29, 2019.She was predeceased by her husband, Johnnie O. Hollis and is survived by her son, David O. Hollis (Tammi Dyar Hollis) of Santa Fe, TN; and daughter Barbre Hollis Clark, Overland Park, KS; grandsons, Matthew Clark and great-grandson Sawyer of Shawnee, KS, John David Hollis of NY City, NY, Jeffrey M. Hollis of Davao City, Philippine Islands, James W. Hollis (Alison) of Silver Springs, Md; her sister Peggy Holmes of Cooter, Mo; brother-in-law, Frank Jones of Olive Branch, MS; and devoted niece Lisa Jones (Steve Browning) of Olive Branch, MS; and many beloved nieces and nephews.Jane was a UT School of Nursing graduate in 1948 and served as Head Nurse of the Tuberculosis Unit at Kennedy Hospital 1949-1951. She was co-founder, with her late husband, of the Tennessee Genealogical Society. She loved working with pre-school children, genealogy, reading and writing poetry.She is now in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ, healed and restored for eternity.In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be directed to Temple Baptist Church, Olive Branch, MS, Stephens Valley Church children’s ministry, Nashville, TN, or DeSoto County Food Bank.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “A Fitting Farewell for Everyone”.
