Having known Jim since 1975 at Union Planters Bank, I mourn his passing. He actually hired me 3 times at Vining Sparks and also had given me the thumbs to be hired at U P Bank. I will forever be grateful for him giving me opportunity to be successful. Jim had vision and his laser focus on being successful was unmatched. With a quick analytical mind and seemingly unlimited drive, he, with the help of Willard, built a successful company which gave many of us opportunities for success. I have many memories of him and our relationship over the years. He made himself available to add value to the sales people by doing seminars and client visits and I think he and I set a record when we traveled round trip 2,374 miles in ONE DAY to visit a client ! Jim had the ability to make people around him feel comfortable and at ease, even after becoming very successful. His success never affected how he made others feel. He truly was a unique person and will be missed.I regret that I will not be able to attend the funeral as I will be 500 miles away. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we every be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” Thessalonians 4:16-18 ASVJesus said: “Blessed are those who mourn: for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4 ASV
