James Gordon Sullivan's Obituary
James Gordon Sullivan of Memphis, TN went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 96 on November 13, 2024. He was born on February 6, 1928, in Macon, MS to the late Andrew Walton Sullivan and the late Edna Cline Sullivan.
Following his graduation from high school in 1946 he joined the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. Following his time of service, he returned to attend college at the University of Mississippi in Oxford (Ole Miss). He was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and earned the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration. He married his beloved wife, Dorothy Sullivan (Dot) in 1959 and resided in Memphis until 2000 where they moved to Olive Branch, MS. In 2013 they moved to Germantown Plantation Senior Living in Germantown, TN.
He was a longtime member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Memphis and in later years Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS.
His favorite pastime was working in his yard and piddling around in his garage. He loved family get togethers most of all.
He is preceded in death by his wife of many years, Dorothy Sullivan. He is survived by his daughters Ann King (Mike) of Olive Branch, MS and Cary Hollabaugh (Robert) of Memphis, TN as well as four grandchildren Sterling Hollabaugh, Lillie Hollabaugh, Emma Katherine King, and Walton King.
A private family service will be held on November 15 with burial at Memphis Memorial Park.
