Jim was a heck of a nice guy. I will always remember his humor, sharp wit and a ton of stories and that southern drawl nobody in Des Moines, Ia was quite used to. I had the privilege of working under Jim at what was then known as Federal Express many years ago. It was a unique experience having Jim as a manager and friend. Jim will be greatly missed by all that had the privilege to meet him. Our hearts go out to Jim’s family at this time of sorrow and loss.
So sad to hear of Jim’s passing; he was truly a great man, mentor, and friend. I will remember his wit and wisdom as a boss and his guidance as a friend. Jim knew how to lead, develop, and bring out the best in people. His fingerprints are all over the lives and careers of many at FedEx —— his legacy and contributions will continue on.
