James H. Playez, 91, of Bartlett, died November 27, 2009, at St. Francis Bartlett.He was originally from Johnstown, PA, was a WW II Army Veteran, and was retired from the US Postal Service and Faye Builders Supply. He is survived by his beloved family: his wife of 63 years, Elanora; his daughter, Anita Morton (Jerry) of Bartlett; and two grandsons, Jeremy and Cory Morton, of Memphis; sisters Sue Lewis, Madison, IN; Ella MacLaren, Pensacola, FL; Lucy Link (John), Elberta, AL; Norma Balko, Johnstown, PA, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George J. Playez and Iva Maude Playez; a brother, Irvin G. Playez; and sisters Katherine Tenney, Leah Godfrey, Janet Riley, and Georgette Wingard.He was a devout member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bartlett.Visitation will be Monday, November 30 from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral Services will be Tuesday December 1 at 10:00 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Any memorials may be sent to Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bartlett, or the charity of your choice.
