James Daniel "Danny" Peeler's Obituary
James Daniel "Danny" Peeler, 78, passed peacefully from this earth on July 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Danny was the beloved son of the late Faye Peeler Brown, his late stepfather Grover Brown and his late father, Don Peeler. Proud of his Memphis roots, he carried with him a lifelong appreciation for good food, good friends, and especially great barbecue. Whether he was tending the grill or gathering loved ones around the table, Danny believed some of life's best memories were made over a shared meal.
Danny never met a golf course he didn't enjoy. An avid golfer, he treasured the friendships and countless hours spent on the fairways from Tennessee to southern Alabama. He was also a devoted University of Tennessee-Knoxville fan – no matter what sport they were playing. He reserved Saturdays for making his way to Knoxville to cheer the team. Win or lose, he never missed a football or basketball game.
Above all else, Danny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He shared many years of marriage with his beloved wife, Debbie, building a life centered on love, laughter, and family. He was the proud father of Jimmy, Tammy, Christie, and his son-in-law Rob, and his greatest joy came from being "Granddaddy" to Cadence, Kensley, Payton, Jordan, Miller, Stella, Koa and Hollis. His family brought endless smiles to his face, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with them.
Danny will be remembered for his warm heart, his quick smile, quick humor, and his love of family traditions. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the memories he gave us, the values he instilled, and the love he shared so freely. His legacy lives on in the family he adored and the countless lives he touched.
Danny’s service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery at 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38120. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. with service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow immediately at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The men that will honor Danny as pallbearers will be Rob Hoff, Jerry Dondeville, Jason Dondeville, Andrew Dondeville, Gregg Dondeville, Brian Jackson and Scott Worsham.
