James H. Patrick Sr.'s Obituary
James Hulon “Pat” Patrick, Sr., 95, died November 17, 2011 at home, a few hours after the burial of his wife of 71 years. J. H. smiled, closed his eyes, and went to spend eternity with his bride in Heaven. We know they are holding hands and praising Jesus at this moment. He was a WWII Navy veteran, former owner of Miller-Hawkins Business College, Gideon, and Union University trustee. He was a dedicated member of Colonial Baptist Church and worked with the Midsouth Baptist Association as well as the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Most of all, he was a cherished father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his sisters Mildred Shields and Alma Corley, one brother R. C. Patrick, three sons Jim Patrick (Hope), David Patrick (Brenda), Tim Patrick (Ellen), and one daughter, Nadine Damron (Gene), twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at Colonial Baptist Church, 1503 Colonial Road, Memphis, TN on Sunday, November 20th, with visitation at 1:30 p.m., followed by the funeral at 2:30 p.m. and burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Gideons.
