James Murray Merryman's Obituary
James “Murray” Merryman, 80, of Collierville, TN. Passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023.
Murray was a graduate of Southside Highschool in 1960, where he played quarterback for the “Scrappers.” Lt. Merryman served the Memphis Fire Department for 25 years and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Murray was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Earl and Stan), his wife (Norma), and his granddaughter (Brooxie Davis). He is survived by his brother and sister (Norman and Nancy), his three children, Jim (Tracy), Leisa (Leon), and Mendy; four grandchildren (Jimmy, Christy, Brock, and Austin.); and multiple great grandchildren.
It was a peaceful homecoming as Murray loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Funeral Services for Murray will be conducted on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 10:00am at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Riverside Chapel. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service starting at 9:00am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery.
