James Paul "Jamie" Luckett's Obituary
James "Jamie" Paul Luckett, 61, passed away on December 19, 2024, after a short illness in Dallas, Texas. Jamie was born on October 17, 1963, in Memphis, TN. He was the son of Bill and Joan Luckett and a member of a large, loving, close family. He graduated from CBHS (Christian Brothers HS) in 1982 where he excelled in basketball. After graduating from CBHS, he went on to attend college at the University of Memphis. He began his career working at FedEx and later landed in the paper products industry with the von Drehle Corporation. After a series of buyouts, Jamie served as Regional Manager of the Marcal Company and was based out of Dallas, Texas.
In 1987, Jamie met the love of his life, Lisa Hynes. They were married for 34 years and had two loving daughters: Lindsey and Madison. Jamie is survived by his wife Lisa and their two daughters: Lindsey Van Hoeck, 32 of Hernando, MS (husband Ryan, grandson Ford) and Madison, 29 of Summerlin, NV. His siblings include his brother, Bubba Luckett (wife Amy) and sisters Leslie Perry (husband Billy) and Ashley Parks (husband Billy) along with their children and grandchildren. In addition, he leaves his Aunt Barbara Nash and 1st cousin Dana Nash.
Jamie enjoyed life. He loved golf, music and family, but the greatest enjoyment in his life was his family. He was known for his infectious laugh, humor, love of life, and good nature. Jamie and his wife were members of the Whites Chapel Methodist Church in Dallas. He loved the Lord and was a true family man. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he will be missed.
The visitation will be held in the parlor from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m., in the sanctuary, Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Christ Church, 4488 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN 38117.
