James B. "Jim" Ellers, Jr.'s Obituary
James B. “Jim” Ellers, 69, was born November 25, 1947 and died February 19, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Claire Foote Ellers; daughter, Jennifer Ellers; son, James B. “Chip” Ellers III; mother, Theresa “Terry” Ellers; siblings, Theresa “Resa” Miliara (Alex) of Marion, IL, John Ellers (Cindy) of Scottsdale, AZ and Sharon Kemp (Russell) of Atlanta, GA as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father, James B. Ellers, Sr. Jim attended Harding Academy and graduated from Bartlett High School. He graduated from Memphis State University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Jim attended White Station Church of Christ, where his parents were charter members, and later joined Christ United Methodist Church when Jennifer and Chip began pre-school there. Jim was an award winning salesman, who began his career at IBM and later retired from Siemans Medical after 25 years. When Jim was not hard at work. He loved to spend time with his family: coaching and watching Jennifer and Chip’s teams, supporting his Tiger basketball and football teams, fishing, golfing and hunting. All of Jim’s friends have at least one if not many funny stories to tell about him. Please join us as we celebrate his life at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 25 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave. Visitation will begin at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
