James Sterling Inman, Jr.'s Obituary
James Sterling Inman, Jr, age 74, passed away March 21, 2018 in Memphis. Jim graduated from Central High School in 1961 and went on to graduate from Mississippi State University in 1965. While at MSU he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He served his country through the Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War flying over one hundred missions.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James S. Inman and Lura Denham Inman, step-mother, Hilda Draughn Inman and step brother, Richard Draughn. He is survived by his wife, Karen Hartrick Inman, sons, Dustin Inman (Kelsey), Bryan Inman (Jackie), daughter Suzanna Hartrick Hedden (Jason). Jim also leaves his sister, Sally Inman Bilbery (Waymon), step brother, Bob Draughn (Zane) and his Aunt “Maylee” (Mary Hyde McMullen). He was loved greatly by his grandchildren, Allie, Caleb, Connor James, Bryan Michael, Lexi, Faith, Jacob, Jackson, Lily, Paxton, Josie, Austin and Avery.Jim’s faith in the Lord and his kindness will remain an example to all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor that would catch you off guard and reduce you to tears. When asked how he was doing, he would always answer “better than I deserve”. He was an active member of Hope Presbyterian Church.Visitation will be Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 5pm until 7pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home.The funeral service will be at 11am Monday, March 26, 2018, at Hope Presbyterian Church Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
