James Goodale's Obituary
James Eugene “Gene” Goodale, 89, of Collierville, died October 9, 2012. He was born on August 21, 1923 in Camden, SC and graduated from Columbia High School in Columbia, SC. He attended the University of South Carolina and joined the Navy. He became a Naval Aviator and served 20 years in the Navy and Naval Reserves, retiring as Lieutenant Commander. Mr. Goodale worked for the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement. He was a member of Germantown United Methodist Church and enjoyed travel and his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel F. Goodale, daughters Rebecca McAlister and Beverly Butler (Tim) and son, James E. Goodale, Jr. (Louise). He is also survived by his grandchildren, David Goodale, Loran Goodale, Brian Goodale and Wynn Butler. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rebecca Butler. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 13, from 1:30 until service time at 2:30 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Germantown United Methodist Church (Elder Care Fund), 2331 South Germantown Rd., Germantown, TN 38138, or the charity of your choice.
