James D. Goldschmid's Obituary
James Goldschmid, 88, passed away December 22, 2019. Jim was a devoted and faithful husband to Betty for almost 62 years of marriage. He was a loving and caring father to Libby. Jim was an Eagle Scout, a 30-year Veteran in the Army Reserves reaching the rank of Colonel, a dentist by trade, and a talented artist. His wit could get even the most stoic to crack a smile. He was always ready to help someone else. He loved spending time with family and friends. He had a love for aircraft and building radio-controlled model planes. He enjoyed playing golf and bridge. He was a dedicated church founding member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He genuinely appreciated the little things in life and left a humble legacy of a life well lived.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. In lieu of traditional remembrances the family requests that memorial donations be made in Mr. Goldschmid's name to the charity of the donor's choice. A full obituary will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
