James Embry's Obituary
James Lloyd Embry, 59, passed away at his mother’s home on August 17, 2012, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jennifer Lovett Embry, son Jeffrey Logan Embry, mother Charlena Embry, brother Mike Embry, mother-in-law Freda Lovett, sister and brother in-laws Kathy and Bill Nelson and numerous other family members. Jim was born to Bert and Charlena Embry on February 10, 1953 in Springfield, IL and lived in various places before settling in Memphis, TN in 1968. Jim graduated from Wooddale HS in Memphis, Freed-Hardeman College, and Christian Brothers College. He entered the Methodist Hospital radiology training program in 1976 and was employed by the hospital upon graduation. Jim remained with Methodist in various positions and was the Director of Radiology for Methodist-LeBonheur Healthcare – Germantown at the time of his death. Jim was a faithful member of the Germantown Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. Jim was a devoted father, husband, son, and brother who enjoyed model railroading and loved his Methodist Healthcare family.
