James Alonzo Dickerson's Obituary
James Alonzo Dickerson, better known as Papa Jim to everyone who loved him, passed away on July 26, 2022 at Ripley Healthcare and Rehab.
He was born on May 10, 1940 in New Albany, Mississippi to the late William Lee Dickerson, Sr. and Lura Webb Dickerson.
Papa Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Lee Dickerson, Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Carolyn Pugh Dickerson; two daughters, Ann Rodgers (Steve) and Cheryl Bartley; one son, Tommy Frank (Darla); one sister, Carolyn Burge; one brother, Robert "Bobby" Dickerson (Betty) and one sister in law, Joyce Dickerson. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
a Memorial Service with military honors will be held at a later date.
