James Curtis "Curt" McKenzie's Obituary
James Curtis “Curt” McKenzie passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at age 40.
He was born July 18, 1982 in Memphis, Tennessee to James “Jimmy” and Sydney (Smith) McKenzie.
He worked as a Contractor with Armstrong Relocation and managed a crew in which he held in high regard. Several of his crew were referred by Curt as he had known them through recovery and was always giving to others and “paying it forward”.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved ones and friends. He had the ability to reach people and connect to people and he used that ability to help others in countless ways. He was a Free spirit, Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend to so many.
He is survived by his son, Collin Grady McKenzie, Sisters, Angie McKenzie, Niese Sullivan (Troy) and Amanda Hatfield (Jody), Nieces and Nephew, Chelsea Thweatt, Landon Hatfield and Lillian Hatfield and an uncle, Dennis McKenzie (Debbie) and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and his nephew, Blake Thweatt.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, 38119. (901) 767-8930.
