James "Jim" Hughes Cathey's Obituary
James “Jim” Cathey, peacefully passed away at his home on December 6, 2020 at the age of 85. He was a member of Germantown Baptist Church and was a retired banker after serving the Memphis area for many years. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Downing. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Becky Cathey; daughter, Jennifer Sturm; and son, Chad Cathey, both of California; two grandsons, Logan and Tyler Sturm. Due to the pandemic we are currently in his family has chosen to have no services and a private burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, all memorials can be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Ronald McDonald House or any charity of donor’s choice.
