This is a paragraph from Jim’s obituary :“Jimmy was a role model and father figure for many of the men, women, girls and boys who knew him through his business, years of motocross racing, and as a neighbor or relative. Many have described him as being a second father to them.”I am one of those boys described in the above paragraph. Mr. Canfield was like a second father to me and many other boys. He took an interest in me and my hobby of motocross and was a role model to me as a young man. He gave me a job in his business and fatherly guidance and insight. He took me to motocross races, paid for countless meals and hotel rooms and at the races was known as the go- to father for mechanical advice and racing advice. Cool, calm and collected was his persona and to tell the truth, most kids wished he was their father. Yea, he was that cool and fun. He had a wicked sense of humor and wit and many laughs were had by many that knew him. He was the kinda Dad that everyone wanted to “ hang around”.I cried a lot today and I’m crying as I type this. I’ll miss you Mr. Canfield and I hope someday to see you in heaven.Goodbye,Steve Williams
