James N. “Jim” Burns, Jr., 64: Jim Burns of Southaven died peacefully Sunday, March 1. He was born on May 22, 1950, to Newell and Dorothy Burns. He attended White Station High School and Memphis State University, where he was President of Kappa Alpha fraternity. Jim was Vice President of Igloo Products and the founder and former co-owner of Total Aftermarket Sales Company.Jim is survived by his wife, Susie Maynor Burns, son Brent Burns, daughter Blair Burns, sisters Diane Taylor (Dr. Herb) and Joanne Bogart (Dr. John), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service will be Friday at noon in the Wilson Chapel of Christ United Methodist Church, 4488 Poplar Avenue. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 12:00 prior to the service. Memorial Park Funeral Home is coordinating (901 767-8930). In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
