James Brougton's Obituary
James Edwin “Jim” Broughton, Jr. age 56, passed away April 15, 2018. He was born March 3, 1962 in Memphis, TN to Kay and James E. Broughton, Sr. He was an Account Executive with the Federal Reserve Bank. Jim attended St. Paul School and Bishop Byrne High School where he enjoyed playing athletics, winning the Baseball State Championship in 1980. He attended the University of Tennessee and graduated from Christian Brothers University where he excelled in baseball. Jim enjoyed coaching his children in numerous sports and touched the lives of many other children through the years. He loved attending his children’s games and cheering on the teams at St. Louis School, Christian Brothers High School, and St. Agnes Academy. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mindi; children, Dallas and Kaitlyn; sister, Brooke DeLucia; brothers, Mark Broughton (Fay Beth) and Matt Broughton (Thanh); and his parents. The family will begin to receive friends at 5:00 p.m. and memories will be shared beginning at 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. His life will be celebrated at a Mass at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 19, at St. Louis Catholic Church.
