James E. Blount's Obituary
James E. “Jeb” Blount III, 68, of Germantown, died in Memphis on February 22, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father James E. Blount Jr and mother Sara Blount. Jeb leaves his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara C. Blount, his 3 children, Jimmy Blount of Collierville, TN, Sara Wright of Signal Mountain, TN, Alice Grantham, of Mobile, Al, a sister Sandra Nott of Memphis, and a host of family and friends. Jeb was a lifelong resident of Shelby County and a proud graduate of Memphis University School, Rhodes College, and University of Memphis School of Law. He also served honorably in the Air National Guard. Jeb was a prominent member of the Memphis Bar for over forty years and was proud to call himself a trial lawyer. He loved the outdoors, his dogs, Tiger basketball, and telling a good story. Jeb fought for his clients, was faithful to his many friends, and was an outstanding husband, father, and grandfather. His life made a tremendous impact on countless people in his community and he will be missed. His family will receive friends from 11:30 am until service time at 1:00 pm at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, on Saturday, February 26, 2011. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Heart Association or Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
