James Jefferson Babb's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, James Jefferson Babb, 84, of Cordova, TN, who left us suddenly on July 17, 2025. He lived a life filled with love, joy, and service to God and others. He touched countless lives with his smile, his dry wit, and his willingness to serve.
Born in Memphis, TN, on July 13, 1941, Jeff Babb was a true Christian gentleman. He pursued a career in chemical engineering, where he excelled, but his true passion lay in serving others - whether it was helping teach 2nd grade Sunday School at church, helping to build a church in Brazil, serving as a short term missionary in Cambodia, or living out his marriage vows by caring for our mother, Mary Babb, during her last days.
Jeff Babb will be dearly missed by his devoted children, LeAnn Babb Rial (Kerry Rial), Jon Babb, and Matthew Babb (Jessica Babb); and by his loving grandchildren, Abby Rial Higgins, (Devon Higgins), Ian Rial, Charlotte Babb, Elliot Babb, and Sadie Babb. He will also be missed by his sister-in-law, Martha Evans, and his nephew, Brian Evans (Lyndsey Evans). He also leaves behind many dear friends and neighbors.
A celebration of Jeff's life will be held on July 24, 2025 at Bellevue Baptist Church's Pollard Chapel. Visitation is at 10:00 https://a.m.and the service will follow at 11:00 a.m. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and share their memories.
