James R. Allen's Obituary
James Royce Allen, 85 passed away January 21, 2012. Mr. Allen was a proud Veteran of the 2nd World War and served honorably in the United States Army and Air Force. He later attended Union University and studied business administration. He opened Consultant Service Insurance Agency with Bobby Meeks and later sold the agency to Clay & Land where he continued to be an agent until his passing. Mr. Allen was a proud Memphis Tiger BKB & FB season ticket holder and supporter for over 50 years! He was also a member of the Highland Hundred Club as well as the American Legion. The family will receive guests from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 24 and services will be held Wednesday, January 25 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Graveside services, at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, at 1 p.m. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Rayburn and a brother Wallace Allen. He leaves two daughters; Sandra Floied, Leslie Brown, a son Gary R. Allen, and grandchildren; Mallory Ray, Madalyn Brown, Eva Allen, Daniel Warren, Nathaniel Hampton, Cody Hampton, Riley Allen, Taylor Brown and Chase Brown. The family request memorials be sent to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
