Jacqueline Newman Williamson's Obituary
Jacqueline Newman Williamson, age 96, departed this life on July 22. She was born on March 2, 1930, in Milan, Tennessee, to Lawrence and Frances Thompson Newman.
Jacqueline graduated from Jackson High School in Tennessee and attended Southwestern (now Rhodes College), where she met her beloved husband, James Caruthers Williamson. They were married for 67 years.
Jacqueline and James were members of Evergreen Presbyterian Church, where she was involved with Women of the Church, King’s Daughters, and the Women’s Exchange. She enjoyed antiquing trips with friends, her bridge club, and entertaining her family and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, grace, and the love she shared with those around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Caruthers Williamson; her parents, Lawrence and Frances Thompson Newman; and her sister, Joyce Newman Gregory.
She is survived by her daughters, Lin Coleman, Mary Baucum (Todd), and Jennifer Wilson (Mark); her grandchildren, Carter Coleman, Wyatt Coleman (Laura), Suzanne Dorman (Dan), Anna Baucum, Lauren Baucum, Caroline Adams (Troy), Emily Keeling (Tyler), Lance Wilson, and Grace Velte (Alex); and 10 great-grandchildren.
Jacqueline’s love, kindness, and cherished memories will remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Williamson will be held Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, in the Fireside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin following visitation at 1:00 PM. The committal service will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
