Jacqueline Sue Palmer's Obituary
Jacqueline (Jackie) Sue Palmer [77], beloved mother to 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, of Collierville, TN, passed away with family and friends surrounding her at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN on March 3, 2025 leaving a profound void in the hearts of her family and friends.
Born Jacqueline Sue Coleman in Detroit, MI, in 1948 to Jack Coleman and Mary Sue (Russell) Coleman, Jackie moved to Indianapolis, IN, in 1960. She married her first husband, Kenneth Wilson Priest Sr., with whom she had her two eldest children. In 1973, she relocated to Memphis, TN, where she met her second husband, Bradford Palmer, and welcomed two more children. Memphis became her lifelong home, where she built a life filled with love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
Jackie cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She often said her children were her "legacy" and found deep fulfillment in seeing them grow into parents themselves.
A true fighter, Jackie battled and overcame cervical cancer, skin cancer, and colon cancer twice. In 2024, while facing her second battle with lung cancer, she developed a persistent bacterial infection, leading to multiple hospitalizations. Before moving to hospice care in November 2024, she lived with her youngest daughter, Heather Eisan (Adam), and her two youngest grandchildren, Brodi and Brooks, in Collierville, TN. Despite her declining health, she remained resilient and never lost her fighting spirit.
Through her challenges, Jackie’s faith grew stronger. Her favorite Bible story was that of Naomi and Ruth, admiring Ruth’s unwavering devotion to her mother-in-law. During her time in hospice, she found solace in prayer, received communion, and spoke openly about her faith, proclaiming, “Jesus Christ is my Savior and Lord.” Her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Creator.
Jackie was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Allen Rogers, mother, Mary Sue Rogers, and daughter, Prairie Dawn Champagne. She is survived by her siblings, Robert Rogers, Sherry (Jerry) Roberts, and Larry (Karen) Rogers; her children, Lori (Scott) Ellis, Kenneth (Lynn) Priest, and Heather (Adam) Eisan; her grandchildren, Christine Ellis, Michael (Vanessa) Ellis, Patrick (Kayla) Priest, Andrew Champagne, Camryn Champagne, Brodi Lichliter, Brooks Eisan; and her great granddaughters.
A casual reception will be held in Collierville, TN, to celebrate Jackie’s life, honoring her wishes to forgo a formal funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House at 1520 W Poplar Avenue, Collierville, TN 38017. This facility provided her with compassionate care and financial assistance made possible by generous donors. Jackie’s love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will be cherished forever.
