Dr. Jack Ewing Steen's Obituary
Dr. Jack Ewing Steen, 91 of Memphis, TN passed away on October 24, 2018. Jack was born May 7, 1927 in Glasgow, Kentucky, son of James Burke and Blanche Steen. After graduating Bowling Green High School, he served his country in the Navy. Jack graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Mechanical Engineering degree and his Master of Business Administration. He worked at Firestone in Memphis, Tennessee as an engineer. He later attended University of Alabama where he earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration. He taught at the University of Alabama and Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL for 30+ years. He was a certified Arbitrator and Special Master Labor- Management Consultant. Jack was a deacon in his church, a devoted husband, a great father, and a wonderful grandfather. He was a devoted follower of Christ, dedicated family man, and faithful friend.Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Joyce Ellis Steen. He remarried and is survived by loving wife of 20 years, Dianne Burkle Steen. Surviving are also his 2 children Evelyn (Barry) Marchman (of Tyrone, GA), and John (Jennifer) Steen (of Hendersonville, TN); and 10 grandchildren Jonathan, Andrew, Rachel, Matthew, Chloe, Abigail, Naomi, and deceased Grace Marchman; Julianna, Jake and Jaleigh Steen. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
