Jack Glancy's Obituary
Jack Glancy, 83, passed away May 22, 2012. He was born January 19, 1929 and was preceded in death by his parents, John, Sr. and Augusta Glancy and brother, John Glancy, Jr. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Annie D. Glancy; children Debbie Schwertley (William) of Memphis, Patti Douglass (Tommy) of Bartlett, and Andy Glancy of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Ryan Schwertley, Cody Douglass and Katelyn Douglass. He also leaves sisters, Gladys Sellers and Mary Enyart of Memphis and brother, Joe Glancy of Little Rock, AR. Jack graduated from Humes High School in 1948, where he lettered in basketball. He attended Draughns Business College and served in the U.S. Air Force. He spent his career in plumbing and heating sales with American Standard, Noland Co. and Chris–More, Inc., where he retired in 2004. He was an avid Memphis Tiger fan. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24 and the funeral service 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 25 all at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery.
