A devoted family man, and an accomplished retired pharmacist, Jack lived a very active, vibrant life shared with family and friends. His journey through this world was full of many travels, adventures, interest, and marked by service to God, family, neighbors and those in need. Jack was born, raised, and spent most of his adult life in Memphis, TN. A member of the Class of 1948 from Christian Brothers High School (then known as CBC) on East Parkway in Memphis, TN. After meeting the love of his life Marion Gatti at the CYO of Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Memphis in 1955, they were married in the same church in 1959. Now with a growing family, Jack’s career in pharmacy progressed from working at Walgreens to opening his own store in 1964, Borg Pharmacy at the corner of Jackson Ave and Evergreen Street in midtown Memphis. After almost 20 rewarding years on Jackson Ave, he sold this store in 1983. For the next five years Jack took great pride in helping serve the health care needs as a pharmacist in hospitals, clinics in Memphis, Shelby County and Tipton county before opening another Borg Pharmacy on Stage Road in Bartlett, TN in the late 1980s. Jack loved to spend time with his family, especially camping, canoeing, hiking, swimming, biking, fishing, tennis, and site seeing all over the U.S. His travels abroad continued. The trips outside of the U.S. often included his family. A family that eventually grew to include 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Jack’s love of being outdoors and active with his family persisted into his early 90s. Jack was passionate about helping others, especially those in need.
