J. Fred Voigt's Obituary
J. Fred Voigt, 92, of Memphis TN, was called home by the Lord and Savior Jesus on December 26, 2020. He was born in Lemmon SD, June 24, 1928. J. Fred attended and graduated from Lemmon High School in 1946 and from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1950. J. Fred was married to the love of his life, Mildred (Pretz.) Pressler in 1950. J. Fred was drafted in to the Air Force but did not have to attend until graduating from College. He proudly served as an Air Force 2nd Lt. until the armistice was signed in 1953 ending the Korean War. J. Fred joined CB&I Co. and lived in the West, Mid-West, North West, and Mid-South US before his retirement in Memphis in 1993. While a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Memphis TN J Fred volunteered his talents to manage construction of the chapel expansion project, a real labor of love for him. J. Fred enjoyed gardening and green grass. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Barkley near Cadiz, KY for the past 40 years. Through the Grace of God, he is survived by a thriving family, 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred, daughter Wendy as well as his parents, brother and sister: Fredrick, Agnes, Raymond and Irene.
I never met a more steadfast man, in faith, family and friends. Thanks for showing us how to love each other, We love and miss you dearly!
