The person that we know as Ervin has been a part of the Cochran family since 1943 when he married our sister, Elizabeth. Together they raised a wonderful family in a Christian household and passed their life values on to their children and grandchildren. They also shared that spirit with all of the nephews and nieces in the extended Cochran and Shipp families. There are many fond memories of the limited times that we have been able to spend with Ervin over the years because of the long distance between our respective homes, but each time together was a time of treasured memories. Some years after our sister’s passing, Ervin married Lois and continued that life style that had made him so special to the Cochrans. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. We extend our heart-felt condolences to Lois, to all of his children and grandchildren and to his sister, Ruth Evelyn. Rosemary and Reeves Cochran (sister-in-law and brother-in-law) and children.

I am flooded with memories of our family trips to Memphis over the years and all of those memories have Uncle Ervin telling us kids wonderfully funny stories, the way only he could tell them in his soft, gentle manner. I had the honor of knowing Mr Ira for some years now. He was a good man, and I greatly respected him. I was saddened to hear of his death, but I know Ms Lois, all Mr Ira’s children and grandchildren, and everyone who knew him are proud to be a part of his life, and each of us were lucky to know him.
