Imogene R. Owen's Obituary
Imogene Roberts Owen, passed away peacefully December 15, 2012. Jean was born October 26, 1923 in Gainesville, Arkansas where she lived with her parents Lillie Holifield Roberts and Alvin Roberts. She met and married Frank S. Owen while working at Esso in Memphis. Throughout her life, Jean was actively involved in her church as a Sunday school teacher and deacon’s wife as well as a group leader in Community Bible Study, and Melody Lane Garden Club. She has been an active member of the Truth Seekers Life Group at Bellevue Baptist Church. Her heart was her family and church where she devoted her time and life. Prayer and evangelism were evident in her life. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey S. Owen and daughter, Janet Owen Newbill, her sister, Doris LaCook, her brother, Dale Roberts, and three grandchildren, Phillip S. Owen (Sara), Brad Owen, and Neal Newbill (Yang). The visitation will held at Memorial Park Funeral Home beginning at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, followed by the 1 p.m. funeral service. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Family requests any memorials may be sent to Bellevue Baptist Church, Mid-America Theological Seminary or a charity of donor’s choice.Location: Section I Arrow Color: Red
