Ila Faye Taylor's Obituary
Ila Faye Taylor (James), 90, born Feb 25, 1932, left us to be with her Lord and Savior August 16. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family, after a long illness. Faye was born in Bruce, MS, to John Jackson and Carrie Addice (Doodle) James. She attended Pittsboro High School where she was a Valedictorian of her Senior Class.
She is preceded in death by James “Ralph” Taylor (husband), James Phillip Taylor (son), Doyle James (brother), James Adam Taylor (grandson) and Kristi Marie Taylor (granddaughter).
She is survived by John Jeffrey Taylor of Memphis, Donna Taylor Weeks of Oxford, MS (Eric), John Jackson Taylor of Little Rock, AR, (Missy), John Zachary Taylor of Memphis (Katie), Susan Lenore Steffens of Memphis and Taylor Addice Weeks of Oxford, and three great grandchildren. And she was always appreciative of the love, care and kindness of her caregivers Teresa Hudson, and Nicole and Rhonda Adams.
She and Ralph married immediately following her high school graduation and in 1968 they formed T & S Sawmill and Ralph Taylor Lumber Company. She was a member of The Memphis Garden Club. And she and Ralph were former active members of Whitehaven Country Club where they met many lifelong friends. They were also former members of Chickasaw CC and Hot Springs CC, longtime supporters of the Ole Miss Loyalty Foundation, and she was a current member of the Oaklawn Jockey Club.
In lieu of flowers, you may also consider making a donation to St. Jude Childrens’ Hospital. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 27, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with service immediately following at 11:00 AM
