Carol Jaquess
Lucille was my best friend and we shared many memories. She prayed for me and my family, but first we became good friends. I think our relationship was so strong because we shared many stories. We spent many visits driving around town as she knew everything about the city... who build the children's hospital, etc. Lucille's mind was sharp to the end. Our visits were so much fun, as we always planned a special day so we could reminisce and laugh about whatever.
Lucille's Sunday school class was so special, and I can tell you why. It related to our everyday lives. She was very knowledgeable about the Bible and she made the lesson interesting and memorable. It was delightful to attend her class, lots of goodies before class and then a warm message, and personal requests for prayers. Just the way a class should be. She had an interest in everyone in her class, therefore a lot of our time was discussing answers to prayers, and the glory of God. I am afraid I got spoiled to her class as every Sunday I looked forward to Lucille's warm welcoming to each of us. She never forgot a name and always a hug for everyone. This was not a class that was dedicated to all sermons, or interpretation of verses, this was a class dedicated to enriching our minds with the love of God and each other. So, it had been hard to find a class to match Lucille Davis' class.
I will miss her so much but I knew we were all getting older and I could not hold on to her forever, but I am glad that I had all those wonderful years to spend with her. I hope she is the one to meet me when I go to heaven, as I know she will know her way around.
Love to you Lucille - Carol Jaquess - Your loving friend.
