Hugholine "Mac" Cummings' Obituary
HUGHOLINE McCOMMON CUMMINGS, age 88, of Slayden, MS, went home to be with her Lord on August 20, 2014. She was a retired bank officer with Union Planters National Bank. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lorene McCommon, Saulsbury, TN; her husband, Cecil Cummings, and her son Phillip Cummings, both of Memphis, TN; a grandson, Nathan Crowdis; three brothers, Charles McCommon of Saulsbury, TN, William R. McCommon of Grand Junction, TN, and Roy L. McCommon of Mobile, AL. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-lw, Cheryl and Ted Crowdis of Slayden, MS; her daughter-in-law, Deborah H. Cummings of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Hubert McCommon of Memphis, TN, and Rev. John McCommon of Jackson, TN. She leaves six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of Central Church of Collierville, TN, and was active in the Faith Class and the Ruth Circle; she had made over 500 pillows for the Baptist Women’s Auxiliary and Central Church Ministries; she was faithful in visiting members in hospitals and nursing homes. For many years she did volunteer work in the Central Church accounting office. She was truly one of God’s servants. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, August 21 and funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 22 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, Memphis, TN. Interment will be at West Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Saulsbury, TN. In lieu of flowers, it is requested memorials be sent to Central Church, or to the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
