I was Dr. Francis’ home hospice nurse for the last year of his life, and what a privilege to have gotten to know him, his wife, Ruth, and main caregiver, Nikki. I will always remember his eyes opening up wide when I would come for my visits. His smile, infectious. You’re dancing with the angels now, Doc.
I am so sorry. I just loved Dr. Francis. He was my hero as a 17 year old ward clerk at Methodist Hospital. He talked to me as though I was a contemporary, encouraged me as a Pre-Med Engineering student at Memphis State and warned off one doctor who was giving me a hard time with trying to “cop a feel”. He was my hero! That was 50 years ago. My condolences. I know you are heart broken. Prayers for your comfort.
With many prayers for Dr. Francis and for his family. May God give you Peace and Comfort. Dr. Francis enjoyed life and lived it fully. Not Shabby Dr. Hugh . Quite a life! You made all who made your aquaintance proud and better for having done so. RIP
