Hugh Cox's Obituary
Hugh W. Cox, 97, passed away September 13, 2013. A World War II Army veteran, he worked as Controller for Helen of Memphis until his retirement. Mr. Cox was a member of Shady Grove Presbyterian Church, where he served as Clerk of the Session and was the Treasurer of the Memphis Presbytery. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Edna L. Cox and is survived by his daughter, Nancy Howell and her husband, Walter Howell of Memphis, TN; sons, Cary Cox and his wife Bettye Cox of Madison, MS and Hugh (Chip) Cox, Jr. and his wife Susan of Cordova, TN; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 17 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Shady Grove Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
