Howard Gladen Hall's Obituary
HOWARD GLADEN HALL, founder of H.G. Hall Construction Company and Ruscon Construction Company, both Nationwide building firms; a WWII veteran, loving husband, father and grandfather, went to be with his Lord on October 8th at the age of 86 at his home in Germantown. Howard Hall was born August 8, 1924. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He had just graduated from school when he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After a year of basic training in Massachusetts his unit spent two years in France and Germany taking him from Normandy Beach to Munich in the 4th Armored Division. Hall was a 32nd degree Mason and Life Member of the Al Chymia Shriners. His life’s desire and ability led him to become a commercial general contractor. He quickly became a nationwide builder constructing over 150 hotels, high rise apartment buildings, shopping malls and centers, churches and other large commercial projects throughout the United States. He retired after 61 years of building. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Cordova where his willigness to serve, share, and find ways to positively impact those around him was inspirational and his life was a record of service to others. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and those who came to love him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard G. Hall, Sr., and Ruth E. Hall; his brother, Darrell E. Hall and granddaughter Hunter Leigh Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Martha Hall, his daughter, Barbara Hall Phillips and her husband Jim Phillips of Rogers, AR; his son, Russell S. Hall of Germantown and daughter Peggy A. Hall of Memphis. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Parker Phillips of Los Angeles, CA, Preston Phillips and Palmer Phillips of Dallas, TX; one brother, Charles L. Hall of Lake Fork, TX. Visitation will be Monday, October 11, 10 a.m. with memorial service, 11 a.m., at Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova. Burial service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
