Hosam "Sam" Emad Moustafa's Obituary
Hosam Emad “Sam” Moustafa, 44, passed away August 28, in Atlanta GA. Born July 8, 1979, at the University of Tennessee “John Gaston Hospital” in Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his father Emad Tawied Moustafa. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Kelly Cullen Moustafa; his mother Dr. Salwa Moustafa; a sister Dr. Manal Moustafa; and many many friends he considered family. Sam was a wonderful husband; son; brother; son-in-law; brother-in-law and an incredible uncle and great uncle to his 4 nieces, 3 nephews. He loved his cat Mighty and his twin Siamese cats, Sunny and Asa.
Sam or “Moose” as he was affectionally known, attended Saint Dominic grade school for boys; Christian Brothers High School, Ridgeway High School in Memphis, TN and graduated from Oakhill Academy, in Virginia, in 1997. He attended The University of Tennessee Knoxville where he received a double major in Marketing and Advertising, in 2002. In 2007, Sam graduated from The Creative Circus, in Atlanta, where he received his graduate degree in Copy Writing and Advertising. Sam worked at Trade School/22 Squared as a Senior Copy Writer.
Sam had a fun personality, was kind, thoughtful, generous and had the biggest heart. Sam grew up avid tennis player, was a top ranked player at the Racket club, second in state. He never met a stranger and always stayed connected with the people he met. Sam loved to travel around the world. He had dual citizenship, US and Egypt. He loved visiting his 6 aunts, 3 uncles and many cousins, in Egypt.
Sam had many passions, his wife, family, friends, cooking, the ocean, surfing and all types of music. He saw a couple hundred Widespread Panic shows, and loved David Byrne, Talking Heads, Thievery Corp, Pearl Jam and Tupac.
The memorial service is Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 5668 Poplar Ave, in Memphis, TN. Rather than flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the Atlanta or Memphis Humane Society, St. Jude Children Research Hospital, in Memphis TN or (MIC) Memphis Islamic Center.
