Hope Laura Wallace Davison's Obituary
Hope Laura Wallace Davison, age 96, passed away peacefully at home into the arms of her Savior on February 20, 2017. She was born February 24, 1920 in Washington, D.C. to Samuel J. Wallace and Hope Dora (Lyon-Leith) Wallace; she had one brother, Gordon Wallace. She grew up in England, and during WWII served in the U.S. Women’s Army Corps in London, Paris and Frankfurt. She married Dr. Robert Allen Davison in New York in 1947, and they spent 47 wonderful years together until his death in 1994. They had two children: Robert Edward Davison, who passed away in 1977, and Deborah Hope Davison Houseal. Hope was a devoted Christian and a member of Bellevue Baptist Church for 43 years, where she served in the Children’s Ministry, on the baptistery committee, and as a tour guide. She loved the Lord, and was a women of prayer with a gift of mercy. Her kind and humble demeanor was a blessing to all who knew her. Hope is survived by her daughter, Deborah; her grandsons, Robert Collin Houseal (Vikki) of Smithville, AR; and Michael Trevor Houseal (Mercy) of Memphis; and six great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 10 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home, the family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9 am. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary
