So sorry to hear of your loss. May the Lord comfort you. I am a buddy of his from high school, but have been away from Memphis since 1969. I have just learned of his Dr. Know gig, and I thought how fitting – to me he always had a sharp mind, more so than “just one of the boys” persona he portrayed.
Because my mother is a resident at Brookdale, I had the privilege of getting to know Henry. He was a warm hearted and engaging man. I was struck by his friendly and open personality, and by also how genuine he was when conversing with my teenage children. He told me a joke I will never forget….it’s one that works with every generation. At my request, he told the joke to my kids.., they thought it was so clever that they wanted to tell it to their dad and pull the wool over his eyes. They did. He fell for it . Thank you, Henry, for being a ray of sunshine. You touched people in such a special way and didn’t even realize it.
