Henry A. McCrarey's Obituary
Henry A. McCrarey, 96, of Collierville, TN, passed away on January 10, 2022. Mr. McCrarey was an Army World War II Veteran serving as a ball turret gunner on a B-17. After leaving the Army he went to work as a printer for the Commercial Appeal on December 24, 1945. Mr. McCrarey retired from the Commercial Appeal on April 20, 2001.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ora Mae McCrarey, and two sons, Robert McCrarey and David McCrarey. Mr. McCrarey is survived by his daughter, Patricia Phillips (Terry), son, Michael McCrarey, four grandchildren, Ross Phillips (Jennifer), Wade Phillips ( Brooke), Karen Wilbanks, Anna McCrarey (Tyler Schwandt), six great grandchildren, Allison Phillips, Sydney Phillips, Nora Phillips, Gavin Phillips, Hera Wilbanks, Astrid Schwandt.
The visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 14, 2022 at Church of the Incarnation Catholic Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family requests the memorial donations in his honor can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.
