Henry ‘Hank’ Miller Smith
December 20, 1970 - April 4, 2022
Hank Smith, a beautiful soul and loving father, left this world suddenly on April 4, 2022 in his 51st year of life.
Hank recently retired from Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida, where he taught Language and Literature. Upon retiring, he returned to his beloved home in Daphne, Alabama.
He grew up on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, attending Christ the King and Bayside Academy. He went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Montevallo, where he also earned a Master of Arts. He earned a Master of Theological Studies from Samford University School of Divinity.
Hank was an avid reader and lover of literature and a lifelong learner. He also was a talented visual artist, writer and poet. He loved cycling all of his life, especially along the shores of Mobile Bay.
Left to love and miss him are his beloved and light of his life son, Henry Marlowe Smith of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, his mother, Teri Anthony of Daphne, Alabama, Uncle David and Aunt Laurie Anthony of Daphne, Alabama and cousins David Anthony III and Carrie Lathrem. Hank was predeceased by his father, Henry ‘Hank’ Matthew Smith.
A private family celebration of his life will be held at his home.
