Henry Albert Behnke's Obituary
ALBERT HENRY BEHNKE, 78, born October 14, 1932 died October 8, 2011. Albert was a man who dedicated his life to his church and family. He spent his career as a VP and Administrative Secretary of the Lutheran Church Extension Fund – Mid-South District/ LCMS, where he helped build and start many churches and schools. He was an active and involved member of Christ the King Lutheran Church for 45 years serving as treasurer, president, and building chairman. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1954, attended St. John’s College in Winfield, KS and graduated from Washington University. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Rufina L. Behnke; two sons, Johnny Behnke, Jeff Behnke ; one daughter, Christy Hill; one brother James E. Behnke; two sisters, Norma Hadley, Marian Behnke; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Mazak. Visitation will be 5:30-8 p.m., Monday, October 10 at Christ the King Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 11 at the church. Interment in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery will be private.
