Helen Rosebrough's Obituary
Helen Gowen Rosebrough, 88, died on January 20, 2011 in Memphis following a brief illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Memphis. Born on January 28, 1922, she attended the Campus School, Messick High School and the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry. She worked from 1942 until 1975 as a Dental Hygienist. Helen was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Foster Rosebrough. She is survived by her three children: Helen Hlavin (Bill) of Elk Grove Village, IL; Richard Rosebrough, Jr. of Memphis; Martha Parker (Rick) of Athens, GA; and grand-children: Carrie and Ryan Eaves, Jay Parker, Sara Hlavin, and Bobby Hlavin. She was a life-long member and loyal servant of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Stewardship Class, the Mary Circle and sang in the choir. There will be a visitation on Sunday, January 23 from 3-5 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
