Helen Rahija's Obituary
Helen Roberta Rahija, 89 born October 17, 1925 passed on May 23, 2015. She and her husband, John L. Rahija were married on Jan 6, 1950, married 44 years. She leaves her son, Robert L. Henderson of Memphis, Mike L. Rahija (Laura) of Germantown and her daughter Roberta “Bertie” Gatlin (Mike) of Cordova. She was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Turbin of Bowling Brook, IL and John Rahija III of Tierra Verde, FL.She also leaves her grandchildren, Donnie Terrell, Ronnie Terrell, Christina Moore, Rachel Rahija, Kellie Rahija Morris, Michael Rahija, Kelsey Gatlin, Tanner Gatlin, Brittany Gatlin, Brian Henderson, and Chris Amerson; and five great grandchildren.Helen and her husband John started Northern Consulting Communication & Equipment Inc, a telecommunications business in Memphis, TN in 1972. She, John and sons were successful in providing telecommunications to the United States and international market for over 30 years. After her retirement from the family business, she and John enjoyed traveling the world together. She later worked for MLGW, retiring in 1985.She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, where she served communion on Sunday morning services.The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private graveside service with her family will be held Wednesday, May 27 at Memory Hill Gardens.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Germantown Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”
