Helen Uldean "Dean" Hope's Obituary
Helen Uldean (Ms. Dean) Hope, of Bartlett, Tn, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at home in the loving arms of her daughter at the age of 80 years, after experiencing 4 strokes and battling cancer over the past year. She is now joyfully reunited with her parents, Repard Edward Long and Elma Lucille Long-Smith, her brother Edward Long and her late son-in-law Lt. Trent A. Kirk. Ms. Dean is survived by her 3 children, daughter Donna Hope Kirk, sons Anthony Theadore Hope Jr. and his wife Tina, and Joseph Daniel Hope and his wife Debbie. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren Hope Noel Holmes, Charity Victoria Kirk, Megan Elizabeth Hope, Tyler Hope, Travis Hope, Trevor Hope and Trent Hope and one great-grandson Gunner Steven Bryant. The unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was unsurpassed.Her daughter lovingly cared for her in the past 5 years of her life along with her two granddaughter’s Charity and Hope. The family would love to express their deepest and warmest gratitude to her additional caregivers Holland Ramos and Georgia Greenhaw who was present during her passing.Ms. Dean was born September 13, 1937 in Savannah, Ga during the Great Depression where she learned at an early age how much it meant to help others in time of need. She loved her Jesus and strongly believed in the Power of Prayer. She spent her life making others feel loved and special with her lemon pound cakes and never forgot a birthday for those she held very special in her heart. She made holidays a very exciting time for everyone with her flare for decorating. She loved to plan parties and gatherings for her community. She enjoying her bingo, playing pool and was quite the card shark. She was a amazing homemaker, caregiver, babysitter, waitress and spent her last years of employment as a security guard. She never left a room without a very large smile on everyone’s face. Ms. Dean had a sweet tooth for jelly beans and would offer to share with everyone. She left a lasting impression with everyone she met for all the special flowers she wore in her hair.
