Helen Dyches Bishop's Obituary
Helen Inez Dyches Bishop, Born 1925, Aiken, SC. Died January 9, 2011, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her her husband of 52 years, Felix Clarke Bishop, her father, Dr. H. Perry Dyches and mother Viola Brosh Dyches, a brother Henry P. Dyches and sisters Corinne Snead Campbell and Brenda K. Dyches. She is survived by sisters Jeane Dyches Phelan of Sewanee, TN and Cathy Dyches Rodgers of Augusta, GA, seven children, Laura Bishop Heringer of Sacramento, CA, Joseph D. Bishop of Nashville, TN, Elizabeth Bishop McQueen of Fernandina Beach, FL, William E. Bishop, also of Nashville, Leigh Bishop Packard of Germantown, Alan T. Bishop of Rocky Mount, NC, and Robert Felix Bishop, also of Germantown, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker and enjoyed golf for many years at Colonial Country Club and was also an accomplished bridge player. She was a communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church where the seven children attended elementary school. A private service was held on January 10 at Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be sent to the Msgr. Paul W. Clunan Endowment Fund at St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 S. White Station Rd., Memphis, TN 38117, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
