Hazeleine Gilbert's Obituary
Hazel “GG” Gilbert (née Gowan), age 81, of Memphis, TN, passed away Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, TN after a short illness. She is predeceased by her husband, Donovan Gilbert, her parents Wallace and Mattie Gowan, and her two brothers, Joe and Perry Gowan.
Hazel enjoyed gardening and taking care of flowers. A lover of fashion, Hazel enjoyed bright-colored outfits with equally dazzling accessories. Hazel leaves behind a legacy of being a tough, honest, and hard-working woman who loved her friends and family. She is survived by her three children, Timothy Gilbert (Jennifer) of Trumann, AR, Phillip Gilbert (Lisa) of Collierville, TN, and Amy Ellis of Arlington, TN. Hazel’s love for others led her to care for Kenneth Williams (Sherri) of Somerville, TN, whom she considered to be her fourth child. Hazel also leaves behind her two sisters, Linda Kimbrough of Pulaski, TN, and Carolyn Jacoby of Columbia, TN, as well as eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be private. Hazel will be interred in the same space as her husband of 22 years, Donovan, at Memorial Park on Poplar. The family of Hazel wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses of Methodist Germantown Hospital who stayed with Hazel as she peacefully passed into eternal rest with Our Lord
