Harry Spero Zepatos Jr.'s Obituary
Harry Spero Zepatos Jr., 68, born July 22, 1954 in Augusta, GA, passed away November 16, 2022 after a battle with Alzheimers. He is preceded in life by his parents Harry and Polly Zepatos and his brother Larry. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karan Hopper Zepatos. They have two sons, Michael and Jeffrey Zepatos; his daughter-in-law, Kelcie Zepatos; and his grandson, Harry Zepatos III. He also leaves his sister, Valerie Zepatos Gosney (Mark) and their 3 children.
He graduated from CBHS and attended UT Martin, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity and earned a degree in Architecture. Upon graduation he began working for Drexel Toland and Associates, where he had the opportunity to travel to Hawaii several times helping design a medical building.
Always wanting to own his own business he then purchased two Baskin-Robbins ice cream stores early in his life, where he knew everyone's favorite flavor. He then became the third generation to lovingly run his family's business, The Arcade Restaurant. Every day, Harry would greet the neighborhood and those visiting the city of Memphis with a big smile. He once said, “It’s like having a party at your home. You know you have to clean up, get ready, and prep, and then you enjoy yourself when it comes.” Harry often said, "he never met a stranger." There was not one place he could go without someone stopping to say hello.
Harry enjoyed his success by loving his true passion, which was being devoted to his family. Harry truly adored his wife, coming home every single day never forgetting to give her a hug and a kiss. There was never a cross word between them. He loved his children so much that he spent his spring and summers coaching their baseball teams, where he of course made many lifelong friends. After a hard day's work there was nothing more that he loved than getting in the pool with his family and enjoying a sunset. Harry Zepatos Jr. was a rock to many people, but most of all to his family.
The Zepatos Family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Riverside Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00am. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
