Harry Shivers' Obituary
Harry F. Shivers, 92, passed away December 22, 2014. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Shivers and his daughters, Frances Sawrie and Sharon Gilbert (David). He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Delaney, his first wife, Helen Morrow Shivers and his sister, Bernadine DeBacco, “papa and mama” Ben and Nora Wasson and brothers Eugene and Raymond Shivers. He leaves his sister, Dorothy Lefler and her son Buddy Lefler (Mary), Goddaughter Cathy Bendall (Bill) and nephew Tim Morrow (Phyllis), niece Maria DeBacco, nephew Louie DeBacco and cousin Father James Murphy. Harry served in the Army Air Corps during the 40’s. He worked 43 years for South Central Bell, now Att. He was an honest and dedicated employee. His hobbies over the years were motorcycling, boat racing and flying. He loved to play golf with friends and family. Many friends, neighbors (including the entire Stavrum family) and loved ones will miss “Uncle Buddy” greatly. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Parrish on Friday December 26, 2014 from 10:00-11:00am with the Memorial service to follow immediately. 3700 Thomas, Memphis, TN. 38127. Burial will follow at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery, 6755 Hwy 51 N., Millington, TN 38053. Memorials may be sent to charity of one’s choice.
